Welcome to the Metabolic Interest Group (MIG)!

The Metabolic Interest Group (MIG) was co-founded in March 2007 by Weiping Han, Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Metabolic Medicine at the Singapore Bio-Imaging Consortium (SBIC) and Judith Swain, Executive Director of the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS). The MIG is a forum for a full spectrum of investigators related to metabolic diseases—basic scientists, disease-oriented investigators, clinical researchers, and epidemiologists/health services researchers—to come together to stimulate interactions, discuss science and possibly initiate new interdisciplinary research collaborations.

The inaugural meeting held on 29 March 2007 at Biopolis met with resounding success with over 60 researchers attending the event. The MIG counts as its members basic scientists from A*STAR research institutes (ETC, GIS, IBN, IMB, IMCB, SBIC, SICS)*, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Temasek Lifesciences Laboratory, clinician investigators from Alexandra Hospital, National University Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, epidemiologists from NUS as well as industry researchers from ESI Cell International, Eli Lilly and Schering-Plough.

We very much welcome new participants in the MIG and hope to see more researchers at future MIG meetings, to be held once every quarter.

If you are interested to participate in the MIG, please register here
